CRANHILL PARISH CHURCH
63rd GIRLS' BRIGADE
The 63rd Girls' Brigade is a Christian organisation which meets in Cranhill Church on Tuesday evenings. Our programme is suitable for girls of all ages and is designed to help girls and young women to develop in confidence and gain new skills which they can use in other areas of their life.
The age range for those who wish to join is 5 to 18 years from any backgrounds and ability. We offer a safe and caring environment where members take part in physical activities, drama, music, crafts and many other practical skills. The activities are designed to match the needs of girls and their abilities. We also try to get involved in the local community.
Whatever their age, members are always learning new things, making new friends and having fun. They can take on new challenges, which help them to fulfil their potential.
We meet from September to May each year in Cranhill Parish Church, from 6:40pm to 8:30pm.
Explorers: P1, P2 & P3 // 6:40pm - 7:40pm
Juniors: P4, P5, P6 & P7 // 7:15pm - 8:30pm
Brigaders: S1 - S6 // 7:15pm - 8:30pm
All girls will be made very welcome.
I moved house to Cranhill in December 1952. I attended Sunday School and Girls' Brigade from an early age. I became a member of the Church when I was 16/17. Although I moved out of Cranhill aged 14 I never left the Church. I became an Officer in the Girls Brigade at 18. I became Captain later. I have loved my time with the girls over the years. I became an Elder of the Church around 1988 and I love Cranhill Church and the people in it. I like good food, gardening and being with family and friends.
